This can usually be fixed by removing the shortcut key assignment for Edit -> Insert Directory. This defaults to CTRL + D, so any time you use that key sequence PromptPal will recognize it as one of its own and not pass it through to the shell. However, you can remove this assignment (and any others you don't like) as follows:

1) Go to File -> Set Command Shortcuts...
2) Scroll down to "Edit -> Insert Directory" and select it
3) Press the "Remove" button
4) Press OK to keep changes.
